Mike Sonier is a Vancouver-based, freestyle chef, and adventurous outdoor enthusiast. Having been part of the culinary industry for 18 years and counting, he has become recognizably known as a travelling chef as he regularly travels to events and collaborations around the country, working with companies that share the same passions.
Born and raised on the East Coast of Canada, this Maritimer found his way to the West Coast, where he now considers home. Drawn to the mountain life, Pacific waters, and year-round farming, he's been travelling around this side of the country since his mid-twenties and can't get enough of it. Establishing his roots, he is the owner and operator of Ethical Table - a culinary platform intended to share education, passion, and inspiration amongst the industry. Ethical Table focuses on connecting with farmers and local businesses to create a tight and economically approach in efforts to grow awareness of knowing where our food is sourced.
When you don't see Sonier in the kitchen, you can find him bombing down hills on his mountain bike, strapped into a snowboard and jumping out of helicopters in the Rockies, snapping vibrant food photography, or taking some time to decompress in a natural hot spring.
