They say when life hands you lemons, make lemonade. But when you’re a mixologist, you can take those lemons and make any drink you want. When life handed Richard Allison a motorcycle accident in 2013, he took those lemons and made bitters.

While on the road to recovery, Richard started researching and testing techniques and eventually started his own small-batch bitters company, Root Bitters. It offers a unique and versatile product that adds complex flavours to any cocktail.

Now an S&R Ambassador, Richard wears our aprons while he’s creating recipes, which he shares on his website and Instagram (@rootbitters). Richard also partners with a variety of top liquor brands.
